A stylish beginning

More than seven years ago, the collaboration between Marcel Vermeulen and the iconic Hotel Des Indes in The Hague began. Marcel specially designed two display cases for the hotel in the recognizable Hotel Des Indes style, which are still prominently present in the central hall. The jewelry displayed in them is carefully selected and matches the atmosphere and elegance of the hotel.

The crown jewel of Hotel Des Indes

One of the most special examples from this collaboration is undoubtedly the Hotel Des Indes Ring. Marcel designed this ring as a tribute to the legendary ballerina Anna Pavlova, who stayed at the hotel during one of her tours and later passed away there. The famous Russian ballerina’s love for Art Deco jewelry and the beautiful decor of the hotel were the starting points for the ring’s design. The exclusive ring was set with a very rare royal blue untreated sapphire that Marcel personally selected in a mine in Sri Lanka.

The crown jewel was featured in L’Officiel at the time and carried a price tag of €85,000. Only one piece was made and it has since been sold. Special encounters Over the years, several hotel guests also became customers after seeing the jewelry in the display cases. Marcel meets the hotel guests both in his store and in the hotel lobby. And for selected pieces that customers prefer to view in complete calm and privacy, it is even possible to see them together with him in the hotel suite. These personal meetings often lead to lasting and trusted collaborations.

With the arrival of hotel manager Yvonne van der Klaauw, the guest profile has also been further refined: a more elegant audience that perfectly fits both the hotel and Marcel Vermeulen’s signature.

A new chapter in elegance

The bond between Marcel Vermeulen and Hotel Des Indes will soon enter a new chapter during a joint event week in August. The hotel's new champagne bar will then serve as the temporary setting for his store. It is also the elegant location for a number of private MV Signature events and meetings with regular and new customers.

A private whisky tasting in collaboration with Macallan will also take place in the champagne bar. The expansion of the collaboration between Marcel and the hotel perfectly complements the long-standing relationship and the shared pursuit of exclusivity and quality.
